Scott Higgins, the CEO of VA Travel, was an Army lieutenant in Vietnam from 1967-68. This experience instilled in him an abiding commitment to Veterans. He was happy to serve again, when he was asked by New York City Mayor Edward I. Koch in 1982 to co-chair (with Donald Trump) the New York Vietnam Veterans Memorial Commission. The commission built a memorial in lower Manhattan, established an ongoing jobs program for Vietnam vets, and held a "Welcome Home" ticker tape parade through New York's "Canyon of Heroes."

It was out of Scott's experiences that he created VA Travel, a membership organization that saves travelers tens of thousands of dollar while at the same time supports our troops returning from overseas.
