Medical Evacuation Insurance -- up to $50,000 in travel coverage
Uninsured travelers who require medical care overseas often face extreme difficulties. Medicare and Medicaid programs do not provide payment for medical services outside the U.S. Private
medical insurance seldom covers medical evacuation from abroad back to the United States. Medical evacuation can easily cost $10,000 and up (Source: U.S. Dept. of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs).
It's easy to take advantage of
this benefit--simply activate your Medical Evacuation Insurance Plan with VA Travel to get $50,000 of policy coverage. This insurance is a part of your VA Travel Card membership--a value worth hundreds of dollars if purchased
separately.
Our VA Travel Card Medical Evacuation plan covers emergency medical evacuation when traveling domestically or abroad back to a licensed medical facility in your home country, and one-way airfare to the place of
residence for dependent children left behind. It also covers a round-trip flight for someone of your choosing to the place of hospitalization if you are hospitalized for more than seven days.
